How to Use DNS Zone Editor in cPanel?

DNS(Domain Name System):-

Its Name server stores DNS records for a domain name.There are many types and some of that is most common (i.e).For More about read this document DNS Zone Editor

A Record:-

A Record is a pointing a domain name with an ip address.for example(example.com is associated with the ip of 111.11.11.11)

CName Recored:-

Canonical Name Records define aliases by associating one domain name with another.You can create a CNAME record for mail.example.com associated with example.com.

Txt Record:-

It contains only text data.It is often to used to define SPF(Sender Policy Framework) or DKIM(Domain key identified mail) settings.The SPF  system allows you to specify servers and IP addresses that are authorized to send mail from your domain(s). This feature works to prevent outgoing spam messages.DKIM  is a means of verifying incoming email. It ensures that incoming messages are unmodified and are from the sender from whom they claim to be. This feature works to prevent incoming spam messages.

Configure the DNS Zone Editor in cPanel:-

To configure DNS records for your domain name cPanel provides simple DNS zone editor and Advance Zone editor.The Advance Zone editor is used to enables you Txt record as well.

Adding a Record
To add the record using the Advanced DNS Zone Editor,follow these steps:-
Step1:In the Domain sections of the cpanel,click Advnced DNS Zone Editor.
Step2:Under Select a Domain,Select the domain foe which you want to add a record.
Step3:Under Add a Record,in the Name text box,type the fully-qualified doamin name (FQDN) for the record.
Step4:In the TTL text box,type the time-to-live in seconds.
Step5:In the Type list box,select the type of record to add,then
If you are adding a A Record record,in the Address text box type ip address with associated domain name.
If you are adding a CNAME record,in the cname text box type caonical name for the domain name.
If you are adding a Txt record,in the TXT Data text box type data for TXT Record.
Step6:Click Add Record button.you can view it in the Zone File Records List.

Editing DNS Reocrd
strong>Step1:In the Domain sections of the cpanel,click Advnced DNS Zone Editor.
Step2:Under Select a Domain,Select the domain foe which you want to edit a record.
Step3:Under zone file editor,locate the record you want to edit and then click edit.
Step4:Modify the value you want to change and then edit record.

 

Deleting DNS Record
Step1:In the Domain sections of the cpanel,click Advnced DNS Zone Editor.
Step2:Under Select a Domain,Select the domain foe which you want to edit a record.
Step3:Under zone file editor,locate the record you want to delete and then click delete.
